Inter-College Rangoli Competition – A Celebration of Ayurveda, Art and Tradition

Shri Veer Pulikeshi Rural Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital & Research Center, Badami, in association with Shri Kalidas Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Badami, organized an Inter-College Rangoli Competition on the auspicious occasion of Charaka Jayanti 2026. The programme was an initiative of the Quality Assurance Cell and was organized by the Department of Ayurveda Samhita, Siddhanta & Sanskrit, in collaboration with the Agastya Sanskrit Club. Held on 19 August 2026 at 2:00 PM at the college premises, the event brought together students from different institutions to showcase their creativity, artistic expression and appreciation of India’s rich Ayurvedic heritage. The competition provided a vibrant platform for students to celebrate the timeless legacy of Acharya Charaka through colours, traditional designs and meaningful representations inspired by Ayurveda.

The event beautifully connected the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with the traditional Indian art of Rangoli, transforming the college premises into a colourful expression of knowledge, culture and creativity. Participants presented innovative Rangoli designs reflecting themes associated with Ayurveda, medicinal plants, natural healing, Indian traditions, wellness and the holistic philosophy of life. The artistic creations highlighted the close relationship between nature and human well-being, a principle deeply rooted in Ayurvedic thought. The competition also encouraged students to explore the cultural and philosophical dimensions of Ayurveda beyond textbooks, demonstrating that the heritage of Ayurveda can be expressed not only through classical knowledge but also through art, creativity and community participation.

The programme emphasized the enduring relevance of Acharya Charaka, one of the greatest authorities of Ayurveda, whose classical teachings continue to guide the principles of health, prevention, diagnosis and holistic living. Through the celebration of Charaka Jayanti, students were encouraged to appreciate the intellectual and cultural heritage of Ayurveda and to carry its values forward with pride and responsibility. The Rangoli competition served as a meaningful opportunity for inter-collegiate interaction, fostering healthy competition, teamwork, imagination and cultural awareness among budding Ayurvedic professionals.
