Shri Veer Pulikeshi Rural Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital & Research Center, Badami, organized “Charaka Jayanti 2026 – Sanskrit Week” on 20 August 2026 at 2:00 PM at Shri K. M. Pattanashjetti Spardha Shakti Kendra. The programme was conducted as an initiative of the Quality Assurance Cell and was organized by the Department of Ayurveda Samhita, Siddhanta & Sanskrit in collaboration with the Agastya Sanskrit Club. The event was conceived to promote awareness of the rich classical heritage of Ayurveda, encourage the study of Sanskrit and Ayurvedic Samhitas, and inspire students to appreciate the timeless knowledge of Acharya Charaka. The programme brought together the academic community in a spirit of learning, cultural appreciation and celebration of India’s traditional system of medicine.
The programme was presided over by Dr. B. M. Mulkapatil, Principal, and was conducted in the presence of Dr. Shashikant B. Nidagundi, Academic Dean, and Dr. Vijaya B. Sunagad, Professor & HOD, Department of Ayurveda Samhita, Siddhanta & Sanskrit. Shri Sunil G. Karudagimath, Chairman, Governing Council, along with the Honorable Members, Principal, teaching staff, non-teaching staff and students, extended their support and encouragement towards the successful conduct of the programme. The participation of students and faculty added academic enthusiasm and cultural significance to the occasion. The event served as an effective platform for strengthening the connection between classical Ayurvedic wisdom, Sanskrit scholarship and contemporary Ayurvedic education, while also reflecting the institution’s commitment to quality academic initiatives.
The observance of Charaka Jayanti 2026 – Sanskrit Week at SVPRAMC, Badami, reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to preserving and promoting the intellectual heritage of Ayurveda. Such programmes provide an opportunity for the younger generation of Ayurvedic students to connect with the teachings of the great Acharyas and understand their continuing relevance in modern healthcare and holistic living. The event concluded with a renewed appreciation for the timeless wisdom of Acharya Charaka, the importance of Sanskrit and the responsibility of future Ayurvedic professionals to preserve, understand and carry forward this rich knowledge tradition. The college extends its sincere appreciation to the resource person, dignitaries, faculty members, staff and students for their valuable participation in making the programme academically enriching and memorable.
