Drawing Competition Held Under Swachhata Pakhwada–2026

Shri Veer Pulikeshi Rural Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital & Research Center, Badami, organized a Drawing Competition for Primary and Middle School students from Class 5 to Class 10 on 13 August 2026 at the Central Library Hall, SVPRAMC Badami. The programme was organized by the Department of Kaumarbhritya & NSS Unit as part of Swachhata Pakhwada–2026, under the theme “Towards a Clean India.” The initiative aimed to create awareness among young students about cleanliness, hygiene, environmental protection and responsible citizenship through creativity and artistic expression.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 68 students, who expressed their ideas on cleanliness and environmental responsibility through colourful and meaningful drawings. Their artwork highlighted themes such as maintaining clean surroundings, proper waste disposal, waste segregation, protecting greenery, avoiding littering and developing healthy personal habits. The activity provided an engaging platform for students to understand that cleanliness is not limited to a campaign but should become a regular part of everyday life. It also encouraged them to carry the message of cleanliness from their schools and homes into the wider community.

The programme also reflected the strong connection between Swachhata and the principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda gives importance to preventive health, personal hygiene, healthy habits and a clean environment through concepts associated with Swasthavritta. A healthy environment plays an important role in supporting physical and mental well-being and preventing illness. By integrating Ayurvedic values with the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign, the programme emphasized that clean surroundings, healthy habits and responsible living form an important foundation for a healthy society.

From Ayurvedic Wisdom to a Swachh Bharat

The programme was conducted in the presence of Dr. Shashikant B. Nidagundi, Professor & HOD, Department of Dravyaguna Vigyan; Dr. Ashok Akki, Professor & HOD, Department of Kaumarbhritya; and Dr. Amareshappa, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, along with faculty members, NSS volunteers and participating students. The initiative successfully brought together creativity, health awareness, environmental responsibility and Ayurvedic values, inspiring students to become active contributors towards a cleaner and greener society. Through this programme, SVPRAMC Badami reaffirmed its commitment to community awareness and the promotion of healthy living, carrying forward the message that Swachhata is an essential step towards Swasthya.
