National Doctors' Day 2026 – Honouring the Healers Behind the Mask

On 1st July 2026, with the initiative of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Shri Veer Pulikeshi Rural Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital & Research Center, Badami, organized a meaningful National Doctors’ Day 2026 celebration at Vagbhata Auditorium. The programme, centered on the theme “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?”, highlighted the invaluable contributions of medical professionals and emphasized the importance of recognizing their dedication, compassion, and selfless service to society.

The event was graced by Dr. Suresh Ugalwat, Chief Medical Officer, Shri Venkateshwar Hospital, Badami, as the Guest of Honor. The programme was presided over by Dr. Basavaraj M. Mulkipatil, Principal, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Shashikant B. Nidagundi, Academic Dean, and Dr. Venkatesh Y. Bhagavat, Deputy Medical Superintendent. Faculty members, hospital staff, students, and distinguished guests actively participated in the celebration, making it a memorable academic event.

As part of the programme, heartfelt tributes were paid to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose birth and death anniversary is commemorated every year as National Doctors’ Day in India. A special homage was also offered to the departed noble soul Dr. Manoj Rangaswami Warakeri (MBBS, DNB – General Physician) in recognition of his dedicated service to the medical profession. The solemn tribute reflected the institution’s deep respect for healthcare professionals who have devoted their lives to patient care.
