World Environment Day 2026 – Celebrating Nature, Sustaining the Future
with initiative of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Shri Veer Pulikeshi Rural Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital and Research Center, Badami, in association with the Department of Dravyaguna, organized a World Environment Day 2026 programme on 5th June 2026 at 10:00 AM in Dhanvantari Vana. The event was conducted to commemorate World Environment Day by promoting environmental conservation, biodiversity, and the significance of medicinal plants in maintaining ecological balance and human health.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Basavaraj M. Mulkipatil, Principal, and held in the esteemed presence of Dr. Shashikant B. Nidagundi, Academic Dean and Professor & Head, Department of Dravyaguna, along with Dr. Geethu Krishnan, Assistant Professor, Department of Dravyaguna. Faculty members, students, and staff enthusiastically participated in the celebration, demonstrating their commitment to environmental sustainability and the preservation of natural resources.
As part of the programme, participants were sensitized to the importance of protecting the environment through sustainable practices, conservation of medicinal plant species, and responsible stewardship of nature. The event emphasized the close relationship between Ayurveda and the environment, highlighting that the conservation of forests and herbal wealth is essential for safeguarding traditional systems of medicine and ensuring a healthier future for society.

The celebration concluded with a collective pledge to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute actively towards environmental protection. Through this initiative, SVPR Ayurveda Medical College reaffirmed its commitment to fostering environmental awareness, promoting green campus initiatives, and inspiring future Ayurvedic professionals to uphold the principles of sustainable living and ecological responsibility.
