Building a Drug-Free Tomorrow Through Awareness Today.

As part of the Vyasana Mukta Abhiyana (Addiction-Free Campaign), Shri Veer Pulikeshi Rural Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre (SVPRAMC), Badami, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Badami Police Station, organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme at the SVPRAMC Yoga Hall. The programme was conducted to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to encourage them to lead a healthy, disciplined, and addiction-free life.

The awareness programme was attended by police officials from Badami Police Station, faculty members, NSS Programme Officers, students, and staff of the institution. The resource persons highlighted the increasing challenges posed by drug addiction, tobacco consumption, smoking, alcohol abuse, and other harmful habits among young people. They emphasized the importance of awareness, self-discipline, and informed decision-making in preventing substance abuse.

During the session, the speakers explained the physical, psychological, social, and legal consequences of addiction while motivating students to become responsible citizens and ambassadors of a drug-free society. The programme also stressed the vital role of educational institutions, parents, law enforcement agencies, and the community in creating awareness and preventing the spread of substance abuse among the youth.

Vyasana Mukta Abhiyana 2026 – Towards an Addiction-Free Society

The programme concluded with an appeal to all participants to actively support the vision of a “Vyasana Mukta Samaja” (Addiction-Free Society) by promoting healthy lifestyles and spreading awareness within their communities. The initiative reflected the commitment of SVPRAMC Badami, the NSS Unit, and Badami Police Station towards safeguarding public health, empowering youth, and fostering social responsibility through collaborative community outreach programmes.
